Company History:
History

Bluetechnix was founded in September 2004 as a spin-off of the Institute of Computer Technology of the Vienna University of Technology. See the timeline for Bluetechnix' evolution.

 

 2004 Idea and Foundation of Bluetechnix
 2005 Marketlaunch of the first products: CM-BF533 and CM-BF561
 2006

Expansion of the product range: CM-BF537E, CM-BF537U and the world smallest Blackfin Core Module (28x28mm) TCM-BF537 as well as appropriate Development and Extender Boards.

Finishing of the first customer development of hard- and firmware based on Freescale's MPC5200 for a big multinational company.

 2007

Award for the best research proposal from the Austrian research fund (www.fit-it.at) for "Wireless Cargo Monitoring"

Partnership with the giant distributor Silica / Avnet to develop the FireCracker reference design.

Start of a new product family based on Freescale's i.MX multimedia processors. The first developed Core Module was the CM-i.MX31.

Movement in the new office in Vienna, Lainzerstraße 162. 

 2008

Farnell is selling the Bluetechnix Blackfin Core Modules.

New products: CM-BF527 and CM-BF548

1 million euro turnover per year was achieved

 2009

Schmid-Engineering becomes a development partner of Bluetechnix

Over 20 employees are working at Bluetechnix

Silica and DigiKey are selling the Bluetechnix products

Partnership with Intel confirmed

First Single-Board Computer based on i.MX51 from Freescale was launched

Partnership with Adeneo for WinCE BSP on the SBC

Partnership with NXP and ST microelectronics

More than 2 million euros turnover achieved

New Core Module CM-i.MX53 and Development Board DEV-i.MX5x

New establishment in Munich, Germany

Marketlaunch of Blackfin based Camera- and Audio Development Kits

Developments

Bluetechnix develops highly innovative solutions in the area of embedded systems and smart sensors used in emerging applications such as in the area of robotics and wireless sensor network applications. Working closely together with universities we cooperate with experts in different fields and can offer hardware and software development services together with a systems engineering design approach.

We sell Core Modules and offer Custom Design Services and Design Assistance for Hardware and Low Level Software (Linux BSPs and native C Code). In addition we give VDSP++ Software Trainings. Bluetechnix has development experience with Blackfin processors from Analog Devices, MPC5200 and i.MX31, i.MX27 from Freescale, LPC from NXP, PXA from Intel (Mavel), AVR from Atmel, XC16x from Infineon, etc.
